I'm actually such a geek that I'm contemplating on tattooing both Sonic and Mario somewhere on my body. They both had such an impact on my childhood, I can't imagine what my life would look like if I never played those games 15-20 years ago.

Geek is of course something else then a nerd. I call someone a nerd if he is 24/7 behind his screen and has some very bad social skills because being to much seperated from friends or society. A geek is someone that likes to spend a part of his spare time gaming or something with computers or internet and looks into games and hardware. Nothing wrong with being a geek of course.

I see a geek as someone who's very enthusiastic about something (be it comics, videogames, anime, etc).
