You can't expect a forum a peak level of people all the time, every forum i am on it goes up or down or both. The one i have seen grown the most is cheapassgamer.com and some of the car forums i also follow.
It's crazy to think i have been a member of this forum for almost a year.
As far as the Vita, i notice its not just one console but its society in general, most people get bored with games rather quickly now-a-days, not many people will play games over and over, they always want the latest and greatest. Not a bad thing but games are coming for the Vita. I feel they are doing a good job of splitting up the releases so we always have something new coming.

Just hang in there. its a new system. In time we will all be a happy camper. Plus i think there gonna stick it out for the Christmas season. Drop a few big hits in that time frame. We may even see a price drop or some good packages come out for the vita during the holidays

To be fair, I wouldn't say this forum is dead.
It clearly doesn't have 3000+ active members, but it is active enough to be among the top searches for "Vita Forum" and give me enough to be occupied with and still interested to be here, which is more than I can say for other independant Vita forums.
There's a friendly enough bunch here that I am enjoying talking with about all things Vita, and get enough responses to prolong the discussion and debate.
What more do you want?

Don't want to labour the point or anything but just wanted to add my voice to say this is no way a dead forum.
Given that prior to Gamescon the Vita had a very long and quiet period it's impressive to me how much activity we actually have here.

Really though, this forum is more active than the full on games forum that I talk on, where they talk about every video game console. I really enjoy it here, and I find myself talking here more than playing my Vita, which is becoming a problem. Yet shows how addictive this forum can be.

I may not always (or infact hardly ever) agree with your point of view but I do enjoy the debates you spark off here. It's good to have someone with a contrasting opinion here to liven things up...otherwise we would all be sitting here saying things like
'The Vitas sure is great!'
'Yes, I agree!'
