I talked to the mods about having a thread like this for games that aren't on the Vita. Essentially, this is the same thread as the one in the Vita area, but on this thread users can ask opinions on games for any console other than the Vita. Make sure to mention the system you are asking about. Mods can change the title if they see fit, I couldn't think of a good one.

So, I will start. I am enjoying my PS3, but would like to play some co-op games online. Can anyone recommend me some of the best online co-op games for PS3?

Borderlands 2 is probably the best coop online game available for the PS3. Far Cry 3 has fun coop play, so does Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception. Battlefield 3 has good coop play.

Borderlands 2, Army of Two Series, Uncharted 3(surprisingly good co-op), Far Cry 3. These are the four that came to my mind first. Also, Dead Island is online co-op and Battlefield 3 has an online co-op, but I don't think that one is so good and it's short to boot.

Sweet, I have Uncharted 3. I haven't played it yet because I want to play the first two. I was going to get Borderlands as well. Now on those games are you with others fighting the computer or how does it work? Also, do you recommend any LBP PS3 games? I enjoyed the Vita version.

Borderlands 2 has coop play with you and up to three more people doing missions fighting against baddies, if I am not mistaken there is no standalone competitive multiplayer mode but you can challenge a teammate to a duel and get a shitload of experience points if you win. Uncharted has a standalone coop mode with you and another person taking on missions in addition to having a bevy of competitive multiplayer modes such as free for alls and team deathmatch. Far Cry 3 has a coop mode where you and up to three people can take on missions in addition to having standard competitive multiplayer modes. Battlefield 3 has a coop mode where you can team up with another person to tackle missions in addition to having a bunch of multiplayer modes.

I am the wrong person to ask about LBP. I own LBP2 on PS3 via PS+ and I could not play it for more than 5 minutes due to it being not for me. However, if you liked LBP for Vita I would not see any reason why you would not like it for PS3.

Well i know it hasnt received the best reviews but defiance is a good game ive been playing it. Since its an mmo your always on with other people and the rpg elements are very deep so youll always have something to do.

Battlefield bad company 2 is another good one i like it alot better than battlefield 3

Ghost recon future soldier is a good 3rd person tatical game if you can find some friends to play and make a squad its alot of fun

Obvious choices I know but if you haven't played Fallout 3 or Skyrim yet then you really should.

My personal favourite games of this generation. The closest thing to a true sense of freedom within an open world as you can buy.

I am planning on getting Skyrim pretty soon. I really want an RPG now though, or really anything other than a shooter or sports (those are the games I have). Can anyone recommend me some cheap RPG games for the PS3? I know a lot of older PS3 games that are $5-$10 and still gems. Anyone have any recommendations?

Dark souls and kingdom of amular are pretty good and dark souls is around 100hrs

(PS3) I bought FFXIII, I know a lot of people hated it but I really wanted a cheap RPG. I only spent $10 on it. Now I really want to buy LBP or LBP2, both are only $10 on sale on PSN right now. LBP is normally $20, and LBP 2 is normally $40. I played LBP on the Vita. I enjoyed it immensely, but I never used it's full potential. I beat the game, dabbled in online play, but never really created my own planet because I got into Ragnarok. My question is - Is LBP and LBP Vita essentially the same game? I already beat it on Vita, so I don't necessarily need to get it again since I already got through the story and won't be confused on 2. At the same time, I loved how LBP is set up. Would anyone recommend me one or the other? I would love a co-op game to go with my collection, just not sure which of these to get.

DEfiance gets very bland very fast id get skyrim. Defiance doesnt have any animations beyond ragdoll point and shoot
