Resident Evil controls

I bought RE 4 and am struggling with the controls, or rather the game's movements. As i'm sure many before me have, it's hard to turn and face the enemies and just move around easily. Are RE 5 or 6 any better for moving Leon around? (not worried about better story, i just want to be able to play the game and not have to fight it).
