Welcome to THE Countdown!

This is a hype thread containing posts (ideally) of people who are excited about the system launch for those who DID NOT get one from the Japan launch. If you did, please feel free to join the party, but no negativity about why we are counting down for something that you already own :)

Most the time these posts have all the info about the device/game you are counting down for but I think those on here know their stuff.

I will start the hype train by asking:

1. If there is a midnight launch for your local brick and mortar store would you go?
2. How excited are you for your new system?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will go to a midnight launch because I LOVE to meet other gamers. In my profession I do not get to meet anyone who games so I jump at the chance to meet others who do. What better than to share your interests with another?

My hype level is palpable! I am very pumped! This system was my Christmas present from my girlfriend to me. She paid in full at a local game store to get me the early release bundle (called 1st edition bundle). I get a Vita 3g, case, 4gb card, Little Deviants, and she got me another $40 gift card. Yes, I am blessed :) SO EXCITED! My iPad I love but am SICK of games so shallow you could not skip a coin accross them! I want complexity and depth in a physical button pushable, sleek, interactive media device that is portable!
This my friends is it!

29 days till early release
36 till official release

How about you?

Well i live about 200 miles from my nearest gamestop, as i live in rural alaska, so no chance of getting it at midnight for me! (i rely on amazon for all my electronics)

i am also super stoked!!! i cant wait to finally hold it in my hands! right now i have 210 saved up, and i need 40 more (moneys not easy to come by at 13) so im hoping to sell my psp to my bro for 40 bucks, then i could get it at launch, but if not, ill wait till my bday on march 28, which i dont want to do!

I might go to a midnight launch. It depends on if I feel like it at the time. I could just pick it up the next day. A lot of the people you see around the local gamestop in the mall look like stalkers and creepers.
I'm really excited about the Vita. I want to be able to game again! (ps. I have a 3DS:oops:)

I was gonna go to the midnight launch but tbh ill wait until 22nd

Can't be bothered waiting for ages while people mess around with bundles, trade ins etc then get home at 2am knackered.

I'll go 9am when it's quieter

Got a suprise bill so my vita will have to wait until march 8th that's fine with me I have my ps3 to keep me occupied until then

If my local store has a midnight launch planned I'll definitely go. It's really fun to share your hobby with a bunch of crazy nerds standing in line, all hyped up for a new console. But they didn't have a midnight launch for 3DS, so I'm not sure they'll have one for Vita. Although they already have more pre-orders for the Vita than they did for the 3DS.

First Edition Bundle from Amazon for me so no midnight launch plans, doubt any of my local Gamestops (3 Gamestops in a town of 70,000 people... guess it comes from living in a college town) will have one anyway.

I'd enjoy going to a midnight launch, attended my first ever midnight launch for Skyrim last year and it was fun. Wife thought I was crazy though, doubt she'd appreciate me doing it again for the Vita anyway!

My favorite GameStop isn't having a midnight launch which is very disappointing but rest assured that if they were having one, I'd be the first in line. I love being able to sit around and talk to gamers with like interests (as it pertains to gaming), exchange GamerTags/PSN IDs, and generally have a great time and memorable experience.

My iPad I love but am SICK of games so shallow you could not skip a coin accross them! I want complexity and depth in a physical button pushable, sleek, interactive media device that is portable!

I hear ya, so much potential and so little in the way of quality games.

I'm probably going to pick mine up after work, since a good amount sleep will yield more time for gaming in the evening. I usually have a cautious optimism when it comes to console launches, but this time around it feels a bit more positive. I got the chance to test a Vita over christmas vacation and it helped to nullify some reservations about the controls and display.

Very nice guys!

Okay, today is now
28 days till early release
35 days till official release

Question of the day:
Where do you plan on using your new Vita most often?

My response:
I will use it a lot in bed. So fun to game on my back all comfy in bed. Also, I'll keep it in my photography bag so when I am doing photo shoots (I shoot for a Dallas magazine) I can play it when I am not active. Lastly, I will look for excuses to have people drive my car (it a nice one so they will) this way I can game when they drive.

I will also mostly use it in my bed. I also go on long trips every once and a while and ill use it then, but mostly just at home:)

Same here mostly at home when I had my psp I hardly ever played outside. Now I can game in the living room while my fam watches TV.

I called up my Gamestop I have mine reserved at and they said that it's too early to tell. Basically, if they get enough pre-orders, they'll do one, but they won't know until sometime in February. They said anyone who has a pre-order for it though would get a phone call if they decided to do one.

My Vita will be coming with me in my Alienware's case. So basically it will be everywhere I go. While I'm sure I'll play with it during my lunch break and what not, I'd assume most of my play time will be at home while the wife and I are watching TV. It's the very reason why I don't play the PS3 that much anymore. The TV is always in use.

I'll have to go to my local GAME store to see if they're doing a midnight launch, to be honest, I wouldn't be able to go anyway because of school :(

Though when I do get it, I will mostly play it at my house on my sofa or at my friends house (he lives at the end of my street) so my Vita will always be safe :P Of course I might decide to go to my other friends house on the other side of london

GREAT!
Okay, today is now
27 days till early release
34 days till official release

I am so pumped. I have to say that Japan is really a bummer. It is crazy that there is such a slow pick up over there. We can speculate all day but in the end it really does not matter because the gaming industry is a near $100,000,000,000 billion dollar industry. Japan only represents $6.2 Billion while the US alone reps the most at $18.52 billion USD. So the real show beings here on the global launch. I think Japan was a means of just a hardware test for home market acceptance. Thats would help them use their 15 game studios they own to see what direction of focus they want to keep for production to the market. I bet they are very positive for the global launch.

Okay, question of the day!
Tell me what is the single foremost harware feture you are excited about? The OLED screen, dual thumb sticks, back touch, camera, ect.

For me, I would say that I am most excited about the ram. I know, seems weird but the PS3 only had 256mb dedicated to gaming and the PSVita has 512mb! Thats a lot to push on a small screen that does not have to render images as high as a 1080p output from a console. I really think this time next year there is going to be some mind blowing stuff coming out!

My Gamestop well the one I usually go to is not doing a midnight launch.which I guess won't matter to me since I won't be getting it until march 8th

Asked me a month ago and I would have said the back touch, I want to see what creative developers can do with that. Now though... the idea of two analog sticks on a handheld is what is really selling me on it compared to the PSP and DS, both of which I passed up. (Well had a DS for a while, but sold it. Hated using that stylus.)

;) I just have to pretend that i don't own a vita already

Im so Excited bout the Vita's touch screen and rear and motion games...:)

GREAT!
