PSVita Has anyone else been getting the Blue Light of Death

I have tried holding down the power button for 30 seconds or longer. Screen is black.
I have tried to power the system up once it is turned off to the recovery page. Screen is black.
Light turns on for 15-20seconds then blinks six times before going out again with this process.

I have tried holding down the power button, right trigger, and the PS button. Screen is black.
The blue light stays solid blue until I hit the X button in this mode. Screen is black and blue light then goes out.

This is all that will work with the system at the moment. I am unaware of any other technique. Any advice would help.

This has been happening to me from time to time, holding the power button to access the recovery menu does the trick.

this happens mostly while unsuspending (waking the vita) so my tip is before you put the vita to sleep make sure that you are on the live screen area before doing so....just press the ps button while in game or app.....works like a charm haven't had BLOD since march

This is nothing like the rrod of the xbox 360. Its just a system freeze really quite easily fixable, practically a non issue.

hi, I can only help you like this:
1 / connect cable PSvita-PC
2 / Hold the Power button for 10-15s
then the screen will return to the recovery menu ... here I thought only the PS3 can connect to Re update system software, because I was trying to choose 1/2/3/4 but they all give back to the black screen with the green light of death.
If you do that successfully, then congratulations to you, your family there!

try leaving it on and draining the batt until you it wont turn on, then after that charge it up and try.

I posted in this thread about 4 months ago, and I've never had the blinking blue light. But yesterday I played on it a bit and put it on standby like I always do, and put it in the case and left it alone. I woke up this morning and picked up the case to move it and it was kinda warm. So I was like wtf... and I opened it up and the PS Vita was blinking away... Holding the power button brought up the recovery screen and it booted back normally. The battery was almost completely drained. I wonder what on Earth it started blinking for when it was only on standby and why it drained the battery. Weird.

Does anyone actually know what this blinking blue light is all about?

may i suggest that you check the vita up in Sony's customer service? the screen might've died or a wire broke or sth, still better to get it checked by sony's support

Happened to me twice. First time it was when I was using Near. The second time I don't know how it happened, I was just flicking around at the home screen lol.

Yeah, going into safe mode and restart it fixed the problem every time. It's kinda common. Every electronic device freezes from time to time, right?
