Forza Horizon 2 - Anyone getting it?

Oh ffs , I remember your drivatar in Forza 5 mate - then again, I suppose in this game you don't HAVE to stay on the track, so that's good news... 
Mine is pre-installing now. UK version though, so it'll be the end of the week for me

Ehh not really into racing games anymore. I used to be into the NFS series because there was more than just simple street racing. There was also high speed chases where you could be on either side of the chase. There is no denying that Forza is one of the best pure racing games out there, just not my cup of tea.

you may want to look into the horizon series. This is a little more in line with the need for speed series than the forza motorsport is (forza motorsport works more as a simulation). there's a lot of different activities in FH2 than just simple races.

Yep, I think its great fun. I skipped the first Horizon, so this is all new to me.
I've sent invites out to those on my FR playing Forza Horizon 2 to our club - 3 members so far. If you'd like an invite, please let me know.
I'm loving it too - 2 championships away from the finale, but got so much still to do in the game its ridiculous. I'm only at 12% complete!

Yep - its great. I have real problems with the offroad races though. Whereas any tarmac races are pretty straightforward to win if you drive well, I just can't place in the majority of offroad races!
The car that will happily leave the opposition half a mile back by the end of the tarmac race, can't even catch up with the opposition with the throttle full on for huge stretches.... I'm obviously doing something wrong, but god knows what it is... Maybe I need a tuning setup per car, specifically for offroad....

I got your invite but i'm already in a club with some RL friends. but if you ever want to get a race or a road trip in, let me know, I'm in.
I'm having a lot more fun with this than the first horizon. the physics system seems a little more refined this time around. The first horizon was pretty impossible to drive anything S-class and above because the just ported most of the forza physics over.

You should of got your friends to join our group, it's open to everyone and I'm inviting family members not on the site too.
The more the merrier and it helps rank up the club. Got the achievement for 500,000 XP for the club tonight. Completed the Finale which netted me a cool 1100000 credits. Already had 2 million saved, so I bought the McLaren P1 and the 1.3million lambo to go with my LaFerrari. The finale race is 15 minutes long in the 210mph Ultima GTR - not sure if its the same length for the slower cars, but it was basically around the whole map.

My biggest beef with FH2 is that bloody initial loading screen which stutters and lags, I assume because of the loading from the HD... I mean - hasn't this problem been solved yet!!!! Why oh why oh why, does a whole system grind to a halt because stuff is being loaded from disk!!... (This isn't an XB1 issue btw, its pretty much every PC I've ever had too)...
Oh, and its a testament to how good this game is, if this is my BIGGEST beef

I haven't noticed this. but I am also running on a digital copy off an external HDD

Do you use a powered desktop drive to get 7200, or a USB powered 5400 notebook type?

Does the drive spin-down when it hasn't been used for a while? I'd hate to have it on 24-7-365....

yes. The enclosure remains on but the drive does not spin... or at least if it does, i can't tell.
but it sure is nice to just got "Xbox go to destiny" instead of getting my ass off the couch to change discs.

the only downfall is i can buy games from smartglass from anywhere. So like i was sitting at dinner with my fiance on friday and i was like "i want fifa" so i bought it...
but since i don't have a game box i forgot i have it and havent played it yet.
I think forza has something to do with that though.
