Blueray OR DVD Watching?

Actually I use my PS3 to watch dvd's & bluray movies on. Some times I've even purchased a movie via the PSN cause it's cheaper to buy a movie I wanted that way.

(I'd rather have a physical copy of a movie)---

my friend's been through 2 PS2's because he was too dumb to buy an actual DVD player---so I gave him my DVD player yesterday(after I bought my Blueray player--and NO, it's not a PS3)

The PS2 is a bit hit and miss with DVDs. You'll want to make sure all your DVDs are in flawless condition, as just a few light scuffs can make the DVD skip like crazy on the PS2. To give it SOME credit though, it was the only console from it's generation that could play DVDs right out of the box. The Xbox requires an add-on, and of course, DVDs can't fit in the Gamecube's mini DVD tray.

The PS3 on the other hand is a very reliable DVD player. Even the most scratched up DVDs seem to work fine on it, and sometimes it even works better than my laptop! I often use it if I want to watch a movie, but for things like TV shows and anime, I just use my laptop. I don't watch Blu-Ray on my PS3 since I don't have an HD TV, but I have a friend that uses his PS3 for Blu Rays, and sounds like it does a pretty good job.
