Anyone else getting Dead or Alive 5?

Most definitely getting it. I'm going to pre-order it soon and pick it up day one. Been waiting forever for this game to come out and it's finally almost here. The DOA is my fav. fighting franchise. I loved DOA 4 and 3 and Mr. Brad Wong is my fav. character. Hayate/Ein are my second mains. Still hoping that Ein is in DOA 5. Making him an alternate costume for Hayate would be awesome.

Anyway, can't wait for the game. All the gameplay, news, character reveals, ect... so far have been phenomenal. I'm prob. most excited about trying out new comer Rig. His fighting style seems really fun to play with and I think it's gonna be awesome to team him up with Bass, whom i'm also excited about. He's like a big teddy bear. lol. But yes. I'm very excited for the game.

Team Ninja wants to have Ryo from Sega's Shenmue in the next DOA. An interesting fact about DOA is that the first DOA was built on the Virtua Fighter engine.

I've only played DOA4 at my friend's house, it was rather a different game than what i'm used to. I've always played Virtua Fighter than a few years ago, I got into Tekken. Perhaps I can give DOA5 a try, seeing how it has Akira in it. Even though akira is the hardest character to master...

By all means get DOA5, master Akira, and raise hell lol. From what I've seen already Akira has some very OP attacks. I may consider maining him myself if I find myself on the receiving end of asswhooping from him to often...if you can't beat 'em, main 'em lol.

Dead or Alive 4 was actually the poorest Dead or Alive game. DOA1 was built Virtua Fighter's engine, and they're paying homage to VF being the father of DOA by including Virtua Fighter characters. I hope that they include Dural from VF as a boss and make him have some DOA moves.

Perfect Legend, a professional fighting game player, in his own words says that DOA5 "is the best fighting game to have (been) released in the past 10 years." That says a lot about a game who's latest iterations have been shunned by the fighting game community as a T&A fighter.

For real tho, see them half naked makes the fighting seem, I dont know, dumb. Like it really doesnt belong...

Mortal Kombat has that kovered . I don't see that making it into DOA's evolution, if it did it would get slammed for "trying to be like MK" and "not staying true to it's roots."

Thats just the vibe I got by watching that video you posted. Dark and dreary level with chicks fighting in bikini's. Whether it belongs in the DOA universe, thats not what Im referring to, Im referring to looking out of place in the level they were on. Now if the level would have been a beach theme, or a backyard pool, then maybe... Just needs some context IMO.

Just got my PS3 back today and fired up my CE DOA5 copy. Immediately tried to get online and found that it was a no go as I couldn't enter any lobbies. Looking on DOA fan sites I've found that their are bugs in the PS3 version's netcode

Team Ninja says they are aware of the issues and they'll release a hotfix ASAP.

I've been having the time of my life playing DOA5. If you're in training, arcade, etc., you can choose to accept Throwdown Challenges, challenges that consist of random people on the internet who are looking for a casual match, they were introduced in Dead or Alive Dimensions. It's very fun when you're playing with friends.
