I always liked Prestiges.. kept the game fresh. All you have to do is just change the name and the concept a little bit. However, if it's an easy to hit max rank and then you have everything unlocked.. it takes away from the re-playability.. just a little bit.

Its weird, but I think the game just HAS to keep the playing field level for everyone. If some players have any sort of advantage with equipment or perk bonuses, the game would be spoiled for me. Somehow representing your 'level' or experience with symbolic or colour information via your name hovering above your character would be cool enough... Cooler still would be to change your titans appearance with iconography plastered over your plating.

    Are you Tapatalking to me?

I like the whole prestige process when I'm playing solo. I love patches/emblems, etc...trying to unlock them, changing up my play style, etc. It does keep it fresh for me.

    However...

When I find a fun crew to play with...I don't care about that stuff at all, as I'm having fun playing with people I enjoy.

So for me, it's a mixed bag. On one hand I really like, on another I don't care about it at all.

I think they'll be able to tweak it some and differentiate it enough for CoD to make it their own. That seems to be a big thing for Respawn. Taking a look at the "big picture" of the CoD/shooter genre and then taking what works and tweaking it, and throwing out, or totally revamping what hadn't been working.

I enjoy prestiging and opening all the new kit. I can take or leave re-prestiging, but I don't really notice or mind after the first couple and it's nice to go on a lvl 1 rampage to prove your mettle and gauge how you have progressed. After all the kit is unlocked, then titles and customisation keep a side interest going. Itching to see what Respawn have got for us.

I'm with mac on this. When I play with my crew, we just want to have fun. There are those that want to display their gaming prowess by how many times they've reupped, but I don't really care for it personally. I feel that I've worked hard enough to unlock all of the goodies, and choosing to do it again simply isn't worth it for me. My gaming time comes at a premium since I have work and family life with my wife and daughter to balance. So having to grind for those unlockables seems more like a glutton for punishment as far as I'm concerned. More power to those that have the time and gaming ability to level up fast. :)

I have a full time job and family life as well. I don't know.. unlocking things seems to keep the game fresh and gives a certain variety.

I actually like prestige and stuff like customization. I just hope Respawn won't show us a Call of Duty copy and produce a new, fresh and unique sort of prestige.

Ah so you guys are talking about it already. Yeah you'll see things like being able to run on walls longer, weapons, ect. I think it's pretty much to be expected anymore. Keeps people getting stuff, and thus tends to keep them striving and playing.

Why did a bunch of people play Diablo at first? Purely the amount of crap you keep finding with neat new lil ways of doing things.

All the more is likely to be shared tomorrow if I'm right and all things are lift and starting up tomorrow rather than the 12th as some are saying.

Agreed. I'd love a really extensive ranking system, but it wont ruin it for me if it's not. The alpha max rank was 10 and I hit that after 9 or 10 games, though I'm sure it gets harder to rank up the higher you go.

As long as it's fun I can care less about Prestiges at this point. I am finding myself caring less and less about leveling up nowadays because the standard point structured leveling system is getting dull.

I just think there needs to be tons of challenges. And I think a concept that I think would be cool would be to integrate the challenges with the leveling progression system. Have level progression based on challenges completed vs the normal point structure progression that we've had for years.

Maybe even have aspects of progression that could be leveled up separately like offensive skills, defensive skills, stamina, hand-to-hand combat skills, something along those lines. And maybe have both pilots and Titans progress separately.

Maybe we could see someone like this down the road. TF2?

    Just my random thoughts.

I have never prestiged in any FPS title. I really don't care about the progression, as long as the gameplay is addictive enough for me to come back to, I'll come back and bring friends with me :)

I hope Titanfall does something new, or at least a bit different. CoD's prestige system has been copied enough, while game like Halo 4 made getting to the maximum level almost worthless when you've bought all loadout items well before level 50, and spend the next 80 levels unlocking 8 perks.

As @old8enkenobi said, the Battlefield system would be great. Having to use all of the bits of kit available in order to unlock everything, rather than it be dependant on your overall level.

I know most of u are Xbox players but I have ps4 and I like the way Shadow fall is done. All the main weapons are unlocked for everyone that way everybody get a chance to use them. More balance means more fun.

prestige is a double edged sword to me. yea it gives you that restart when things get dull. but usually i prestige and i get that excitement again and my interest dies off shortly after that when i go "wait, i already did this"

Exactly @roccityroller. I think if they really want to provide a sense of progression in the form of unlocks, give me vanity options. I would love it if they gave me different skins for weapons/titans/characters instead of locking me out of specific weapons. I agree with @stp366, leave all of the weapon options on the table and let the player choose.

Yes, when you reach max level, they give you the option to "Prestige". It resets your level back to one, then you have to work your way back up. Usually when you choose to do this, you earn various achievements and medals in game showing that you have achieved this. Sometimes they also give you a choice of something to unlock when you hit this point.

I personally don't like it, for me, it yields nothing. I feel like I've lost everything, usually when that happens, I won't go for it again.
